Jenn & Joe (again) and introducing: Mason!

Two years ago I was lucky to get to know this beautiful couple at their wedding on Coors Field. I was thrilled when Jenn contacted me a few weeks ago to do a family photoshoot on the occasion of their handsome son, Mason's first birthday. We let him smash a cake at the end for good measure. Thanks again, Jenn and Joe! I love watching your family grow.

Earley Family | Portraits | Austin, TX

The Earleys have a special place in my heart. Will and I have known this awesome family for many years. We all once lived in the beautiful mountain town Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The Earleys gave me the chance to shoot one of my very first family portrait sessions, and one of their incredible photos is still my favorite family photo of all time (Scroll to the bottom to see it). Will also shot a family session for them back in 2009, something he rarely does any more because of his work and the fact that he prefers to work with me. (I'm attaching his shots from back then below also) .

It has been a pleasure to watch this fun family grow over the years, and it doesn't hurt that Brynn (mom) has killer style and an eye for making everyone look effortlessly amazing. Not long after our photo sessions back in 2009 and '10, Will and I moved to Denver, and the Earleys moved to Austin TX--making it MUCH harder for us to spend time together. Last month, Will and I traveled to Austin for some work he had scheduled with his main company, and I immediately got in touch to see if the Earleys wanted to do family portraits. We ran around Austin on a cloudy, busy, Sunday morning and got my favorite photos of them yet! Enjoy.

Look how LITTLE the kids are! The youngest one was just barely on the way!

Leen Family | Portraits

On a rooftop overlooking Cheeseman park and central Denver, I had the pleasure of taking some family photos of my friend Skye and her brother's family who was visiting from Texas the week of Christmas. She's constantly talking about how adorable her nephews are, and I'd like to think that I did them justice. Those blue eyes though. It's not hard to see where the boys get it from.

Heather and the Butterflies | Tulsa, OK

I've known Heather for a long time. She has always been an artist and a free thinker. Last time she visited me, she brought a huge portfolio of incredibly intricate drawings, and in almost the same breath announced that she was studying to become a mechanic. I don't know if that's still on the table, but I'm sure whatever heather does after highschool she will shine like the sun while doing it. Check out these inspiring fall photos with her friend's newly-hatched butterflies in the park.

Smith Family | Portraits | Tulsa OK

I've known the Smiths for a while. I was the lucky photographer at Dani & Colby's gorgeous La Veta, Colorado wedding last year (Check them out Here: Dani & Colby's Wedding Blog).

The week of the Smith's photoshoot was a big one. They welcomed a new sister from South Africa, who had relocated to be with their brother, and the matriarch had a birthday. The star of this shoot, in my humble option, is 1-year-old claire, who is named for her great grandmother who she is pictured with below. Last summer at the wedding she had yet to make her arrival!
